Yup, you read that right – I am officially married to the love of my life!! We had a super small civil ceremony right outside of the Fredericksburg courthouse with just parents and siblings, and it was a day that I will always remember. Nothing went as planned, it was raining most of the day and Santa Clause was our officiant (see picture below) and yet somehow I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!

You see, I typically get very worked up when things don’t go as planned. I like having a plan, sticking to the plan and I start getting anxious when things start veering off course… but when Alfred is around, I don’t get anxious. I know that no matter what everything is going to be OK. When things start going differently, that doesn’t mean they’re going wrong – it just means we have to adjust our plan. So in a way, it was the perfect day for us because I knew he was the only person I would ever be able to genuinely enjoy the day where nothing went as planned with!

It also doesn’t hurt that we’ll be having the big wedding with all of our family & friends next summer! It definitely took the pressure off of having to make that day perfect. I was able to show my sister-in-law and mother-in-law my wedding dress (yes, I already picked it out!!) and we got to show Alfred’s family around town and eat some yummy food.
