Hey hey! Welcome to a new segment on the blog called For The Bride! I’ll be answering a lot of my most frequently asked questions from brides, delving into all things photography and non photography related, and probably answering questions you may have never thought to ask!
I decided to start this segment because I am currently planning my own wedding, and I was surprised by how little information I could find about certain aspects of the wedding day. My hope is that I will help at least one bride be less stressed out about the most fabulous day of her life!
Today’s blog post is all about getting those detail shots! While they may not be the first photos you are dying to show your children years down the road, detail shots are a very important element when it comes to wedding albums & showcasing your whole day, start to finish. All of the personal touches and, for lack of a better word, details really help to set the tone for wedding! And, I have yet to witness a wedding where the bride did not include something meaningful in her details!
Some of you might be thinking what exactly ARE the details?! While they may differ a little with every wedding, these are what I generally like to tell my brides to bring along for detail shots:
You may not have all of these things (and that’s ok!) or you may have a few personal items you would like included; every wedding will have different looking details! But by thinking about what details you would like included BEFORE the big day rolls around, you will save yourself a lot of stress the morning of! I like my brides to have all of the details together in the same room / place. This way you aren’t running around trying to find everything while you should be relaxing, and I can quickly get those shots out of the way and start documenting the rest of the day!
