Mommy & Me Style Guide | January 2019, Fredericksburg VA
Y’all, I have BARELY been able to contain myself from shouting this from the rooftops! I have been wanting to do mommy & me style guides since I was pregnant – yup, over a year ago now! I distinctly remember telling Alfred, and him laughing & saying ‘Of course you do.’
I started posting monthly style guides waayyyy back when I had my first blog – my free Weebly blog that I started in college (thank god it has been deleted!) It was a super fun outlet, and I loved being able to play dress-up once a month and have Alfred take my picture around our college campus.
Flash forward to after graduation when Alfred and I lived in different states for almost 9 months, I had to either: take my own pictures with a tripod, have my dad take my pictures, or have Alfred take my pictures when he came to visit every few weeks. Definitely not ideal, and I missed a few months of style guides.
And then, surprise! Ellie was on the way, and my style guides totally fell off the face of the earth. I did post one Maternity Style Guide during my pregnancy, but after that I decided to take a break for a bit.
Now that we have an {almost} walking one-year-old, and since she has more clothes than I do (and one could argue cuter clothes) I figured 2019 was the perfect year to start them back up! I am hoping Ellie will look back on these pictures in 20 years and love them, but I have a feeling she is going to think I’m crazy, haha! Either way, I am so excited to be able to document the both of us each month. I can only imagine looking back on these a year, two years, even five years from now!
Ok, I’ll stop rambling now and get to the good stuff. January’s style guide is how to style pink fur jackets for the winter time! We decided to go with a more relaxed look and pair our jackets with denim & grey sneakers, keeping with a pretty neutral color scheme so that the pink would pop. We have been lucky with warm-ish weather here in Virginia so far this winter, and this is a super easy outfit that we can throw on for lots of different occasions!
