Keeping this to myself has been SO hard, but now that everything is officially-official, I can scream it from the rooftops – or my front porch!! WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!! This has been a longgg journey, and it all started around summer time last year.
When I graduated from VT in the winter of 2016, I moved back home to Fredericksburg and had to start my first job immediately – as in I literally graduated on Friday, moved out on Saturday & Sunday, and then started work on Monday morning. Talk about stressful, ha! Alfred finished up his minor the same semester, so he moved back home to Long Island and started working at his parents business. By the time spring rolled around, I was nagging Alfred basically every single day about what we were going to do! I am not the kind of person that does well in a long distance relationship, and I do not particularly like having things up in the air. At this point, almost everything was up in the air – where we would move, when we would move, what Alfred would do for work, etc. It seemed like a never ending list. And then – Alfred was offered a job in Dalgren, and very soon after we found out we were pregnant! We were so excited & nervous at the same time, and we both had the same thought – we should buy a house! Well, as I’m sure many of you already know, it’s not all that easy buying a house. After several obstacles, we settled on renting a condo for a year, and trying again once our lease was up.
As luck would have it, the house we ended up in is absolutely perfect for us! I don’t think we could have found anything like this last year when we were searching. There will be TONS more pictures to come – the house is currently filled with boxes & Ikea bags (fun fact, I have used Ikea bags during every single move – they are a lifesaver!) so once we actually have some furniture in place & clothes put away, I will show our progress on decorating the house! Ellie may or may not think it’s her house…
